National Validation Workshop on draft ABS Law

The ABS workshop schedule for August 18, 2011, is the final stage of the drafting process of an ABS Law for Liberia. Participants will review the Draft Law and make recommendations for inclusion in the draft.

The environmental Protection Agency of Liberia in collaboration with the ABS capacity Building initiative for Africa project implemented by GTZ with funding from the Governments of the Federal Republic of Germany, Norway, and Netherland, will hold a National validation workshop on a draft Access and Benefit Sharing Legislation on August18, 2011. The purpose of the workshop is to afford Representatives of stakeholder groups from the local communities, Regional and National levels to make final input into the draft Law before it submission to the National Legislature for enactment into Law.
