An agency within the Executive branch of government, the ministry of youth and sports was first created as the ministry of labor, youth and sports in 1972 by an act of the national legislature. The act was amended in 1981 by the people's redemption council (PAC) decree 36 to establish the national youth and sports commission.subsequently, the ministry of youth and sports was created in 1982.
