EPA/UNDP Trained Liberian in CBD Clearing House Mechanism website Management
16 national cadres of the Biodiversity Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) drawn from line ministries, agencies and nature conservation NGOs took place from June 20-22. The training is to further national effort to fulfill Liberia's obligation under the CBD by establishing and operating functional CHM website to manage the country's biodiversity information.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the United Nations Development Program with technical assistance from IUCN have completed a three day training for 16 persons drawn up from ministries, agencies and nature conservation local NGOs in managing biodiversity information on the newly established Liberia Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) website. The establishment of the website is one of key national obligations under the CBD.
The Training brought together representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Forestry Development Authority, Environmental Protection Agency, Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia, Famers Associated to Conserve the Environment,Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs and the University of Liberia.
The training was facilitated, Han de Koeijer, CHM Focal Point of Belgian. The training focused on the fundamentals in web page management and data entry.
Speaking at the closing program of the workshop, the Acting Executive Director of the EPA,Hon. Romeo Quiah emphasized the importance of the establishment of the site and called on the UNDP to help in the maintenance and up keep of the Lbieran website. He also urged participants to demonstrate what they have learned by keeping the webpage updated.
Participants were certificated at the end of the training.
